We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join PubMatic as the VP of Commerce Media.

In this Leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market strategy for our Commerce and Retail Media platform. You will collaborate closely with the Product team to build and sell a cutting-edge commerce solution that drives revenue growth and delivers exceptional value to our customers. As the VP of Commerce Media, you will play a critical role in shaping our company's future success in the rapidly evolving digital commerce landscape.

The position has a global and local focus.  Globally, you will work with senior management and sellers in both EMEA and APAC to form and deliver strategies and monitor the execution of those plans.  In the Americas, you will also have an efficient sales team and be responsible for guiding the acquisition of new customers for our suite of Commerce and Retail tools. The role reports directly to the Exec team and will work closely with our founders in developing global strategies and tactics to meet revenue and product penetration goals.

Responsibilities:

Go-to-Market Strategy Development:

  • Develop a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for our commerce and Retail media platforms, aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to identify opportunities and create differentiated positioning for the platform.
  • Define target customer segments, value propositions, and pricing models for maximum market penetration and revenue growth.

Product Collaboration:

  • Collaborate directly with the Product team to shape the roadmap and drive the development of the commerce media platform.
  • Provide strategic guidance and insights to ensure the platform meets the evolving needs of our target customers.
  • Work closely with the Product team to prioritize features, enhancements, and integrations based on market demands and customer feedback.

Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Build and lead a high-performing sales organization dedicated to selling the commerce media platform.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies, tactics, and processes to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Foster strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry influencers to expand market reach and drive platform adoption.
  • Meet and exceed sales goals for the business globally and in the US

Customer Engagement and Satisfaction:

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Success teams to create compelling messaging, positioning, and sales enablement materials for the commerce media platform.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new customers and facilitate ongoing engagement to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and upsell opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their unique challenges and goals, and leveraging that knowledge to continuously improve the platform's value proposition.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product and Marketing as well as the sales teams from other product lines including OpenWrap, Video, Mobile and CTV/OTT.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence, promoting effective communication and alignment across different departments.
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO, Founder and executive team on platform performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven track record of success in a General Manager role, leading go-to-market strategies for digital commerce media / retail media. or media platforms.
  • Extensive experience working with Product teams to develop and launch successful products in the digital commerce media space. (it’s not digital commerce, it’s commerce media/retail media).
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and revenue generation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing sales teams, delivering consistent revenue growth and achieving sales targets.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.

Return to Office: PubMatic employees throughout the globe have returned to our offices via a hybrid work schedule (3 days “in office” and 2 days “working remotely”) that is intended to maximize collaboration, innovation, and productivity among teams and across functions.
