Job Title: Manager, Market & Business Intelligence
Position Overview: We are looking for a passionate and skilled market research and business intelligence whiz who is not only proficient in conducting market and financial research but also excels at data storytelling to internal and external audiences. In this role, you will help shape our marketing research driven thought leadership and provide essential market and business intelligence insights to support the global growth and innovation of our new business lines. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, combined with the ability to craft compelling narratives from data that drive strategic decisions and innovation. You will be instrumental in transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform marketing strategies and new business development.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Research Thought Leadership:
- Design and conduct in-depth market research (survey and qualitative) to identify emerging trends, customer behaviors, and competitive landscapes.
- Produce thought leadership reports, dynamic infographics, and presentations that highlight industry trends, innovations, and actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior marketing and business development teams to define research objectives that align with strategic goals for new business initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the ad tech industry, target audience, and competitors to create impactful and forward-thinking research.
Market and Business Intelligence Analysis:
- Develop revenue forecast models by leveraging quantitative data to estimate addressable market potential.
- Collect and analyze market, industry, and financial (e.g. 10Ks) data, including customer preferences, competitor activities, to inform business decisions.
- Utilize both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (e.g., surveys, interviews, data mining, market analysis) to gather insights.
- Synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights, presenting findings in an easily digestible and visually appealing format for stakeholders across the business.
- Monitor and track market dynamics, emerging opportunities, and potential risks to support strategic business planning for new product and service offerings.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with cross-functional teams globally, including marketing, sales, product development, and leadership, to provide research-based insights that guide business decisions and growth strategies.
- Assist in the creation and refinement of marketing strategies and campaigns by leveraging market research and competitive intelligence.
- Support new business line development by delivering market entry strategies and identifying target markets, customer segments, and partnership opportunities.
Reporting and Presentations:
- Prepare and deliver regular research reports, and presentations for various stakeholders, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations.
- Continuously improve reporting tools and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality insights in a timely manner.
- Track performance metrics of research projects to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven research experience (5+ years) in market research, business intelligence, consulting or marketing analytics, with a strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Proficiency in research tools and software, such as Excel, Qualtrics, eMarketer, , Powerpoint, Looker Business Intelligence or similar platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, concise insights and recommendations.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies that influence marketing and business strategies.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in supporting new business line development or market entry strategies.
- Familiarity with the marketing landscape, including digital marketing, customer experience, and brand strategy.
- Experience in presenting research findings to executive leadership and other senior stakeholders.

Compensation And Benefits:
Compensation Range: $150,000-$175,000 base salary plus annual bonus and benefits.
In accordance with applicable law, the above salary range provided is PubMatic’s reasonable estimate of the salary for this role. The actual amount may vary, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition to salary PubMatic also offers a bonus and competitive benefits package.
